GIIA chief executive, Jon Phillips underscores the importance of a dynamic regulatory framework for UK water commission

Our Chief Executive, Jon Phillips, has featured in an official video produced by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. In the video, Jon articulates a compelling case for urgent reform within the UK's water sector.

Commenting on the challenges facing the sector, Jon Phillips stated:

"In a world of constrained public finances, we have to look to the private sector to help fund our infrastructure, but they need the regulatory framework to work within that will give them the confidence to invest that money in the long term – and that's why the work of the water commission is so important."

The Water Commission is steadfast in its efforts to deliver a more resilient and sustainable water sector. In support of this vision, all stakeholders are invited to share their views on the future of UK water ahead of 23 April 2025. Further information and the opportunity to contribute can be found here.

GIIA continues to champion strategic reforms and innovation across the industry, working tirelessly to secure a future-proof water infrastructure that meets the challenges of our time.
